Johnny does so much for the team it's not surprising he misses the odd free.
It must be hard being one end bursting your lungs to block a ball to prevent a score and then moments later be expected to knock over a 40 yard free.
If you look at all the great free takers they don't do as much work or hard grafting as JD does. He is an excellent player, I would love him to get an all star because he deserves it.

He is probably the most selfless, skillful forward in the country. We are blessed to have a player that roles the best attributes of Tyrone's Dooher and Kerry's Cooper in one player. Pundits and experts go on about how we are reliant on his scores, Kildare fans know the truth...we are reliant on the man, every skill he possess is vital to the Kildare wheel...every county in Ireland would be reliant on a Johnny Doyle, no exceptions.

One final point, Doyle is too honest and gets little or no protection from refs. He earns everything he gets.

Legend. 100 years from now people will still know his name in the shortgrass county.
