I believe some of the clubs have been given assurances by the county board that if they were playing this weekend the players would be available, next weekend is a different story but as Gaa1928 said it will be interesting to see how it plays out over the next few days!!

Did Ethan O'Donoghue or Ciaran Kelly play for Clane?

The only thing Gaa, there are Fellas on the Panel (outside the 20) who have seen very little Match Football, and who are probably not going to feature either, who maybe would have loved to have a Game.

I understand, but at least they are getting minor club championship games.

I'd say Clane would have really appreciated O Donoghue and Kelly yesterday, particularly Kelly's whose free taking would have made a massive difference to them. They must have missed 4/5 very scoreable ones.

Yeah it's a tough pill to swallow for Clane to now be in a relegation battle when they were missing 2 good forwards who could have made a difference.

I'd be bulling if my club had to play a championship game without a couple of county minors - it's a bit of a kick in the teeth for a club that has good enough juvenile structures to produce players of that calibre and then have to field in an important game without them.

I think its terrible that lads did not or were not allowed to play with their clubs over the weekend. All clubs would LOVE to have them playing. Especially for important matches.

The first round of the minor championship should have been played in the week after the leinster final with the second round played on August 5th and the second round of adult championship matches the weekend after that. 3 matches in a week not ideal but its what they do in other counties in that situation. The manner in which fixtures are set isn't ideal either. Need to plan better. All the same I agree that they should have been allowed play for their clubs this week and have the training camp next weekend.

Derry minors playing adult championship football 2 weeks before their semi final. Kerry minors played minor championship 4 days after their quarter final and just over 2 weeks before the semi final. Tipperary had a few players playing hurling last weekend for the county minors. The rest of their players will not have played a game between quarter and semi finals.

Our PR is a joke along with many other aspects of our county board. The Ladies team's PR (presumably with less financial resources) puts the men's to shame. People obviously get themselves voted into these positions for political gain rather than to make a contribution (no kidding Sherlock?). The likes of Cill Dara Times and a few others on Twitter do more to promote the game than the CB do on social media.

One game at a time and all that but oh boy, Kerry in the final if we overcome Tipp.

Psychologically that's a tough ask for any Kildare player. Would be fascinating to see if this generation have something different about them. But Tipp first...

And his own camera. Donal is brilliant, also very active on Twitter and Facebook.

I think there are one or two others helping out in terms of PR for the intermediate team as well.
