Anyone know how different the team playing vs Louth is to the team that lost to dublin in the league final?

8 out of the 15 named started the league final.

Sean Healy, Ronan Slattery, Conor Hartley, James Healy, Kevin O'Callaghan, Ethan O'Donoghue, Matthew Kelly and Aaron Murphy.

Better coached, more motivated team won. Got a fortunate second goal and then allowed Louth straight up the field to score one themselves. As bad a performance as Kildare have produced at this level in 7 years

That's a bad result. I'm surprised Jimmy Hyland was left on the bench for so long. Hopefully Kildare can regroup in the backdoor.

Very disappointing that after going a goal with the wind in the 2nd half, we seemed to fall apart. At least we get another chance but a big improvement is needed.

Who is the second chance against - not that it's exactly deserved.

He was man of the match only a week ago for Rathangan having kicked 7 points and if you can tell me there's six better starting forwards please show me. This is a very poor show. We are in a right bad vein of form footballing wise in the county.

Tommy - "not that it's actually deserved?". I can't get my head around any Kildareman making that comment, particularly one who wasn't even at the match, presumably. Did McGeeney's adult team also not deserve a second chance wen they royally screwed up through over-confidence and poor tactics against the same opposition in 2010?

The rules are the same for every county and the second chance is one of the rules of the competition.

Ps. Do you write all of your articles in one sitting without edits or do you give yourself a second chance the odd time?

Lads, i travelled over to Ballymore last Sunday to see Aylmer Gaels v Ballymore in Minor Lge Semi Final, the two outstanding players on view were Jimmy (Hyland) and S.Barrett (Shane i think) in the middle of the field for Ballymore was outstanding, Jimmy left on the bench yesterday and Barrett doesn't even make the panel........something not right......

Yes Shane Barrett is his name. The best young player seen in Ballymore for years. Starts on the senior team now and does very well in those matches too. Jimmy Hyland is a class act too.

I suppose its the same every year there are players playing in kildare that should be playing for the county and for one reason or another cant get into the panel, if you havent been in developement squads over the years its hard to break into it come minor, and i know there are exceptions but not enough

I recently attended a senior league game involving Suncroft and they had a very good young player called Eoin Lawless, he was very good but does not seem to be good enough for the panel....is he up to the required standard?

Your right there.. I listened to Hacketts Interview with Ger on KFM, and He was asked about Jimmy.. His reply was that He (Jimmy) was tired, and He didn't want to be burning Him out, as He had a long Campaign with Rathangan School. confused

Going by that reasoning Seamus shouldn't the two players that played for Rathangan schools been rested then, he seems to have different rules for different players

why was 2/3 rathangan players dropped off panel for going training with school as oppose to county minor training

how come patrician school newbridge could beat dundalk cbs who had 7/8 louth minors

hackett never went ardscoil rath iomghain match with 11 kildare players playing

this is the same manager who had no problem with one of his main players playing a soccer match the evening before the westmeath match last year

That same Player is still Playing Soccer, and the Manager has no issues with Him and burnout.

Very disappointing result to be honest. Even though I expected it to be tough I really thought we were good enough to progress.
