Ok - I apologise for my language Murof. Shouldn't have used the laughable word.

Mick maybe pace-wise although cover was crap, Hugh with form maybe not. But either way, we could've done with them around training and in dressing room as things fell apart, wasn't a management choice to be rid of them given the panel and experience that's there, that's for sure.

Lads Donaghy scored as more in two games at the very highest level last year than Tomas scored in three years of starts against average teams in qualifiers and early Leinster games.

Comparing the two is absolutely ridiculous.

Which is down to the ridiculous amount of training they do.

Iv heard now that David hyland is off to America as well. It's looking like a bad league is heading straight into a bad championship campaign. Hugh Mcgrillin saw the writing on the wall a long time ago as I suspect did Foley. No effort made to get feely back from England.
I'll complaint but still be there to support the players who are putting in the effort to represent us.

If players are going to America for the summer and management are aware of this early in the year why have them on the panel in the first place, give someone who will be here the chance ( and the benifit of the training, well if they is any benifit ).

If there left 2 on 2 with a fuck load of space in behind they'll be destroyed then again any back would? Mick never really had any pace anyway he was a strong runner yes but I think most of that was sheer strength, he always struggled against a small nippy fucker he's still good enough to mark any team with a tall strong full forward...Hughie still has a lot to offer and I hope we see him back next year under new management. Onto Tomas he was never utilised properly, teams feared him you see that by the amount of players marking him when a ball comes in. If there is 3 or 4 lads marking someone there should be a load of space elsewhere and we should have been able to exploit that. Tomas always need someone running off him too I would have loved to see Niall Kelly beside Tomas.

mick was finished when the modren game turn to speed , teams have worked out tomas when the meath goalkepper could out jumped and the roscommom defence had double marked and lost lot of ball , hugie would have been better wing back but will hard to come back after year from intercounty football, the people in athy would tell you that niall kelly plays his best football in half forward line

Then again lads, a 32-year-old was MOTM in the All-Ireland final. Think it depends on the player in question I wouldn't say every 27-28yo is finished.

I'm 30 and got my 5k down below 21 minutes for first time in 8 years tonight. Athy juniors better try pull strokes to backlog the schedule for December.

No end to the bad news it seems. Very tough on him after winning his place back with Kildare over the last year. Best of luck Keith.

Trying to see silver lining, awful for lads involved, but if any consoltation, if you've to have an horrific injury in your intercounty career this is the time for it.

That's terrible news about Keith Cribbin. Best of luck to him in his recovery. Long road back.

Can anyone be more specific about the Hyland situation? Going to America for the summer as in going full stop, or going to America as in going if/when Kildare are out of the Leinster/All-Ireland championship?

I really hope its the latter although you can't hold it against a player, amateur sport and therefore if they want to travel, that's fair enough... frustrating all the same though.

I would imagine it is as soon as Athy's game with Sarsfields is over that the sanction form will be signed, this should ensure he is free to resume playing with Athy in time for 2nd round of the championship. If he waits until kildare are finished, he wouldn't be available to Athy until quarter final probably at the earliest and that is based on kildare getting knocked out in round 1 of the qualifiers.
