Would love to see Kildare put it up to Dublin and keep it close for 50-60 minutes, it would give everyone great hope about the qualifiers and get supporters positive again. Minor game is the realistic one for Kildare though, some great talent in the team and if we can't win the senior match the next best thing is beating their minors in croke park! Anyone know if you can leave croke park after that game to get some lunch and come back for 4?

Why is it ' galling: that those fpur talented guys would chose playing professional sport over amateur sport?????

If you read my post properly you would have seen that I said that they could have been playing under different circumstances. I never said it was wrong of them to go or that I begrudged them their chance. Both Cribben and Kilkenny both came home from professional sports so I think my point is valid.

Lads I from Kildare I support Kildare true thick and thin 40 years at it now and I keep goning to the end that just the way it is has to be . I admire yea guys yea are the same . I good days will come around again and I hope we there to see them .i can recall when we were bad years ago we were bad . But now we can still beat a lot of teams like Laois ect . Last year Monaghan were lucky to beat us and there be talked up to be in the top 6?

Yes but Jason says he could be back for the FINAL ! Nice to hear some optimism from the manager.

Personally it seems unlikely surgery on an eye socket wouldn't rule someone out for a longer period.

Get up to Croker and support the team. I didn't think we had so many fairweather supporters in the ranks, great supporters when things are going well, but deserters when things are tough and when support is really needed. Shame
The team deserve better, I will be going and will be proud of the lads win lose or draw. I am looking forward to a great game and am expecting to see a really good Kildare performance.

Yeah lads, I know things aren't great at the moment – but the tone on here at the moment is a bit whiny.

Don't forget the minors are also playing, they're a good team, a great bunch of lads and they deserve our support.

We don't want to turn into the Dubs who hop on the bandwagon with the seniors and don't turn out to support the underage sides!

The Kildare Team to face Dublin in Sunday's Leinster senior Semi Final has been named:
1. Mark Donnellan Maynooth
2. Ciaran Fitzpatrick Kilcock
3. Mick O Grady Celbridge
4. Ollie Lyons Celbridge
5. Kevin Murnaghan Moorefield
6. Emmet Bolton Eadestown
7. Eoin Doyle Naas
8. Gary White Sarsfields
9. Paul Cribbin Johnstownbridge
10. Padraig O'Neill St Laurence's
11. Eoghan O'Flaherty Carbury
12. Cathay McNally Johnstownbridge
13. Eamonn Callaghan Naas
14. Alan Smith Sarsfields
15. Padraig Fogarty St Laurence's

No surprises really ..
Think Moolick will be called for sooner rather than later on Sunday.
Size of the half back line is concerning too considering the size and physicality of the Dublin half-forwards - all 3 of Flynn, Connolly and Kilkenny are 6ft and over.

Hard to see that particular team parking the bus drastically, 5 of the 6 forwards are forward by trade and have spent very little time playing anywhere else, Leper is the only one who has spent time in defence but that is a while ago now so if we are going ultra defensive I would expect changes prior to throw in.

I can see Leper, McNally and O'Neill having to do a lot of work around the middle, chasing back and carrying the ball when we have possession. I just hope that when we do win back posession in our own half that we have an outlet to play the ball up to.

Ryan seems to be fairly consistent with his team selection and the team that starts on the day.

All you can ask from the players is that they work as hard as they can, give every bit of energy until someone comes in to replace them and hit hard when needed. If they do that then I'll be happy.

Best of Luck to them and the minors.

Warm-up in front of the hill, all in at the throw-in, benches emptied midway through first half, niggly to nasty thereafter, mill going in and coming out of the tunnel at the break and an absolute street fight for the second half with the sort of behaviour not seen since Meath in the 1980s. And regardless of the result not a single fan can complain about the entertainment value. Now that I think about it, Johnny McDonald in at full-forward. Call me old fashioned...

I actually feel a bit better looking at that Dubs team...but I know I'm getting false hope. Connolly moving from half forward is a plus and their half back line isn't as experienced as normal.
Still all class players but I really hope we tear into them and if we stay with them for 50 mins it's something to build on.
