HG ,  heard Wayne fitzpatrick is out with a serious injury.  Not sure how long term.

thats an awful shame as he was one of the stand out players of that Kildare minor team...thought i read here that he was stationed in Galway in the Army and that was the reason he was'nt involved this year with 21's....but to have a serious injury as well is a bit of a double whammy for the guy......hate to hear of any young lad getting a serious injury...but hopefully he will recover and be kickin" ball again soon...!

I'd say the senior team was weak enough with Aldridge cup etc and the boys playing college final.

Yeah, Fitzpatrick being in the army rings a bell.

Another player on the 2014 minor team who was similar to Fitzpatrick and McMonagle was Mikey Kelly from Athy - great finisher and score-getter. Anyone know if he's on the scene at the moment?

Like I say, these type of players are a rare species in Kildare, so we need to keep them when we find them!

Anyone hear how that Un21 player from Eadestown is. I heard he was concussed and taken to Hospital after a game between the Seniors and 21s at the weekend...... Hope he is ok

Didn't hear how he was but I would love to see the player that caused the damage thrown off the Kildare panel for it. No place for it and the individual involved strikes me as someone who will never learn. Thuggish behaviour from him

Ask Cummins' senior clubmate Emmet Bolton was it a clash of heads? He certainly didn't think so at the time. If he did it on the street, he'd be up for jail. A thug.

I didn't hear anything about it hopefully the young lad is alright. I won't be asking Emmet Bolton because I don't know him on a personal level. Have you anymore details?

I believe he was out of order alright but I wouldn't be throwing him of the panel for it.

Wexford won tonight. So away to them should we beat the biffos.

Wexford play Westmeath in the quarter-final and the winners are at home to the winners of Kildare/Offaly in the semi. Here's the quarter final draw:

Wexford v Westmeath
Kildare v Offaly
Laois v Wicklow
Meath v Dublin

Well I'm not sure what action I'd take to be honest Seamus but I've been at training and say Eoin Doyle and John Doyle box. I've seen Gary White and Emmet Bolton box would you throw them off the panel. I'm not condoning what was done or wasn't done. If you decide to throw someone off the panel for throwing a box you have to be prepared to throw someone off the panel everytime a box is thrown.

I too have witnessed bust ups in training... I recall a right one between paul cribben and cathal mac a few year's back.
This incident was in a challenge match and the young fella was as good as knocked out.. not handbag stuff.

OK Seamus and I didn't see what happened but I heard there was a bit of pushing and shoving then a box was thrown and a player got concussed which was terrible. I'm not for one minute condoning what happened. But a box was thrown that's what happened so if every time a box was thrown the culprite was thrown off the panel then Cian O Neill would be standing on his own before the championship even started.

So if a player gets a box on the head now he is concussed? Ive seen many times in training and training games fights breaking out. I would prefer a bit of fight and bite in games if you want to win you have to train hard and play hard to many Kildare team went soft the last few years.

Ah there's a difference between training hard and a young lad having to go to hospital concussed after a game (different if it was an accidental clash of heads or something). Not sure if throwing the person responsible off the panel is the answer but still you can't condone that kind of behaviour, particularly if the same player has had disciplinary issues in the past.
