I heard  Murphy invited him in but he declined the offer for whatever reason. County football is just not for everyone I suppose.

Think the issue is around travel logistics. . But I suppose where there's a will there's a way. . It's a pity. . Always worth a few scores.
I believe he has a transfer back to the curragh requested. . But that can take a while I believe.

Didn't he also pick up a serious ligaments injury in the match v st Kevins. So that might have been an issue aswell.
No matter. When are they out again ??

Are Con Kavanagh, Alan Scully and Sean Dempsey from Sarsfields on the panel?

I see Chris Healy scored 1-4 yesterday for Carlow IT against Wexford. Two games in one weekend is a crazy schedule for a young player like that.

On paper it looks a very talented panel and thats even without starters from the 2013 team including Fitzpatrick, Cribbin, Dempsey and others. I'd be very hopeful of big things with this group.

2 of the 3 Sash lads you have named there are currently on the panel at the moment. Sean is being looked at as a goalkeeper I believe.

Sean should be looked at as at least an impact full forward.

Sound. I was just going through the 2013 minor team. He was wing back..
Connolly from Moorefield was another on there. . Some competition for places on that team. . Let's hope we get a decent run.

Fingers crossed for a decent run, Meath and Dublin meeting in the first round on the opposite of the draw is never a bad thing for Kildare, on paper it looks like we have a very strong team but as it is straight knock out it only takes one bad performance to scupper the whole year!

It can be difficult and usually the weather is a great leveller too.
I recall those terrible nights v offaly in Gracefield and athy when we looked far superior on paper.

Hopefully we get no injuries during this time of year. For u21 players playing sigerson, u21, and some playing senior football is unforgivable.

If we stay injury free I really think we will win Leinster. Full back line are strong, midfield is more than competitive and the forwards speak for themselves. Hopefully Murphy can develop a good strong centre back out of one of the lads on the panel. We need it at u21 and senior level

One game at a time.. Agree squad is stron but we tend to forget other teams can be strong too. The knock out nature of u-21 is a factor too. It is good to see us continuing to produce strong teams at under age level (at least by Leinster standards).

If this is true about Sean Dempsey being looked at as a goalkeeper does this worry anybody else or is it just me.

Now I know management want to put out their best possible team out at all times however if I was an U/21 club goalkeeper this year and most likely have played in goals from at least U/14 upwards what would I be thinking if an outfield player, and a good one at that, is being considered for the goalkeeping position, I would probably be reflecting on continuing playing GAA at all, particularly at underage level where the window of opportunity for representing your county is very restricted, indeed U/21 being the last opportunity.

I dont think it will be that much of a problem as he was after all the keeper on this team three years ago and by all accounts a very good one.

Well that would make a bit of difference all right.

I would still be a bit unhappy thought if I was a member of his clubs management team to see his development as a full back being slightly 'messed about' with.

Full forward.. don't think Sean is interested in playing in goals tbh.

My apologies, think I was getting him mixed up with Sean Campbell, same logic still applies though.

Considering there is a crossover between Kildare 21s and Sash senior management, I don't think that will be a problem!!
