So if Claire beat roscommon they'll play kerry ??.
If correct, kerry will be in an all ireland semi final after defeating Claire, tipperary and Claire again.. what a farce.

I think if Tipp beat Derry, then it's Clare-Kerry. But if Derry beat Tipp then it's a draw so Clare could play Galway and Derry could play Kerry. Also, not their fault who comes through the qualifiers, and it's looking like by numbers in the last eight they came through the toughest province oddly!

Keeps a little bit of perspective to our promotion from Division Three, Clare and Tipp having excellent Championships. Longford showing as no mugs either.

However there was under 3k at that Tipp game, expect that quarter-final double header to be very very poorly attended. Thank god for the Dubs no doubt we will all hear ad nauseam.

I don't know why they couldn't have had it a double header in salthill.

To be fair Seamus, while I'm usually against games in empty Croke Park, think Tipp and Clare players have earned a summer game there.

Sorry I meant today's matches tk.
The kerry v clare and tipp v galway matches will I'd imagine be a double header IN croker.

Maybe you'd have access to this info . I'd like to see when is the last time all counties in both codes last played a game in Croke Park.

Dublin obviously both hurlersmand footballers played there this year. I'd like to see the stats for all counties.

Leitrim for example. Carlow. It's been a good few years since they were there... Maybe 6/7?

Antrim?

Simple solution, provincial champions should be at home in a quarter-final. Way too many games played in Corporate Park.

So what do we do with it then, just keep it for Dublin so. It's great to see Tipp and Clare having progressed to the last eight and they have earned it. Give them the same exposure as many others have got in the past and they should play in it. It's two steps from a final and I'm sure their supporters aren't complaining.

So if we were to win Leinster you think Newbridge would be a feasible option for a 1/4 final game ? Not a hope

Great interview Taibi! I loved when he said that lads were mentioning Sherlock and dessie Farrell etc and Glen slammed the table basically saying "f### them we'll concentrate on our own game".... A mark of the mentality of those great men.

Good aul Wooly Parkinson believes James Horan is the man to lead Laois to success in the future.

He is optimistic about Laois prospects on the basis of a bunch of 31 year olds who won a Leinster Minor in 2003 -

Brilliant interview, J.D speaks like a supporter because he is one. I could listen to him talk about football all day, so knowledgeable and passionate for Kildare GAA.

Best line I heard in a while near the end.

"Your subject that we have chosen for you is Kildare disappointment" J.D replies "that narrows it down".

Class man.

Are we sure we weren't playing today. The team in maroon's defence looks very familiar. Tipp ploughing straight down the middle and not a hand laid on them.

They've shown what can be done when you really harness and build on underage success with a good coach. And they have still quite a few guys out injured or who left the panel for one reason or another (US etc.).

We need to learn from it.

Despite the obvious caveat of it being league football, it's hard to believe that's roughly the same Tipperary team we brushed aside on their own patch only a few months ago. Some turnaround from them.

Nice to see that brand of football too KK. We aren't suited to the defensive game, don't think we truly buy into it mentally or have the football brains for it, so refreshing to know we could still do something playing a game that comes more naturally to us.

Amazing turnaround. We're the worst team we played in league this year on their performance that day. Their intensity and attitude were what stood out for me today, they just wanted it much much more than Galway.
