Still cant believe he isn't on the panel.. Doesn't make sense given some of the players there whose time is surely up.

Surely it would have been more beneficial to keep him on the panel and work with Ray on what he needs to improve in his game and monitor his progress.

Ray would be more beneficial  to the team then the Moorefield hit man..... i see he got sent off the last to club games he played in ....surely his time is up on the county set-up.

Two different positions. I think Ray deserved a look at during the league. But Cian know best.

The irony is rays clubmate Matty Byrne has played a number of games at half forward... I'd say even Matty would concede that ray would be far ahead of him in that position.

not being smart now Seamus, but I'm gonna guess that the reasons Matty Byrne might be in that role could well be why Ray Kelly isn't.

Ray cahill.
I'm assuming your referring to mattys work rate ?.
Imo cahill best position is centre forward, and I suppose the question is, is he an inter county centre forward ? .

Maybe they might bring him back in for some in house games which would give him another opertunity.

Moores the only team that are 3/3. Clane doing well 2/3. Allenwood Monasteraven and towers struggling to pick up points, Leixlip and castledermot still unbeaten after the draw

Jez it's gonna be some dog fight down at the bottom.. Towers, monasterevin, allenwood, Raheens, and no doubts few more will be dragged into it.

After 3 games, Moorefield are only team on full points, every point will be hard earned this year.

I thought they'd struggle in the league with all the county lads they have this year, although I know the county lads have been available for 2 rounds this year and will be again on the weekend

Are you sure that isn't 5 go down with the 11th team playing the 2nd in Division 2? That way it will leave 12 teams in Division 1 for next year

Moorefield, Celbridge, Athy, Leixlip and Larries all after starting the league very strongly which is going to be very important with 5 teams getting relegated, going to be tough for Allenwood, JTB and Towers who are still on no points from their first 4 games, JTB have only played 3 but have had the county lads for 2 of the 3.

Very important to start league, most of us expected moores athy celbridge and sash to start well, myself Had Confey on that list in there 3/4, larries and Leixlip I'm a bit surprised at. Jtb need to pick up a win badly, and they will struggle if county lads are unavailable. Towers have a young team and the intermediate champ is probably their main aim, I feel allenewood are destined for relegation

Exactly - now I'm only playing Devil's Advocate. I don't see enough club football at all, so I hold no strong opinion. Except that I'm loathe to even use terms ling half-forward or centre-forward anymore. I'm not sure they exist in inter-county football. Half-forwards are more middle third players. And that requires a lot of different skills, not to mention aerobic/athletic abilities.

It will be tough for someone to break in from the club scene I think, given that even three or four U21s might be in, and maybe more. So that means three or four will be cut as it is. But I would be sure they would want to keep an eye on the likes of Ray Cahill, Podge Fogarty and whoever, that had been in and didn't make the initial cut.

I always think of Peter Kelly, who came from nowhere to win an All Star. It's tough but injuries and bad results create opportunities.

Any lads from your respective clubs impressing and could push to get on county panel? Davy Hughes is playing good ball for us for the past few years, obviously mick o Grady is our other stand out from the games I have seen, our goalkeeper Shane McNamara is also a great keeper would good kick out and We have Colin heeney too which is an odd situation

I would have McNamara on the panel ahead of Corley, he is a far better keeper but may not be interested.

I heard a rumour that Heeney wasn't togging out at present for Celbridge...any truth in it ?
