With Offaly beaten by Westmeath today, we are guaranteed promotion. We haven't exactly blazed a trail through the division, but as they say from small acorns...........

Congratulations to the team and management!

What would really cap it off now would be a win next Saturday in the U21 Final against Dublin.

We will now play in the Division 3 Final in Croke Park on April 23rd.

Nice to be home and hosed before the last round of games.

It hasn't been easy on the eye but there have been a few things we can take from the campaign. Feely's addition is a big positive as is the form of Flynn. Players like O'Donoghue and Byrne give us some new defensive options. I'd guess Cian O'Neill would have liked to see more of the newer forwards kicking on. It hasn't really happened for Eanna O'Connor or Adam Tyrrell yet although Tyrrell was much improved yesterday.

Interesting to see how the u21s get on next weekend. There are a handful of u21s who could be potential bolters for the championship particularly in the forwards.

Well done to everyone. It was vital we got back up straight away and we have done it with a game to spare. It will be interesting to see the team for next Sunday considering we will most likely be playing Clare again in the Div 3 final.
I think now the pressure is off we could see an improved performance next Sunday.

Good to have a bit of positivity back again.

Great to get promoted with a game to go and well done to all involved. People thought we should walk through this division but it's not that easy playing teams that park the bus on crap pitches. Hopefully we've seen the back of some of these venues for a while! It will be good to get a run out in Croke Park a month before we play Wexford.

Here are the positives as I see them so far:
- We're winning matches again and that should breed confidence. Okay, we should be beating the teams in our division but in the past we've messed up a lot of matches we should win. We should go all out to win the Clare game and the league final to keep the run going.
- We're scoring goals again. 10 goals in our 6 games is a good return considering we haven't been great at scoring goals.
- The form of Niall Kelly and Dan Flynn. Niall Kelly has generally been excellent despite being heavily marked. Dan Flynn has got a couple of great goals against Westmeath and Tipp and set up one against Longford. Hopefully his hamstring injury is not too bad.
- The form of Kevin Feely and Tommy Moolick. In the league last year, we couldn't win a kick-out to save our lives. Feely has been excellent and has scope for improvement. Moolick was excellent yesterday. It makes a big difference if you are winning your share of the kick-outs.
- Improved full-back line. People may disagree, but the full-back line of Kelly, Hyland and Lyons is shaping up fairly well. We've only conceded 5 goals and there have been no late collapses like against Tyrone and Down in the last couple of years.
- New players have got a chance. Most of the panel have got a chance at this stage. Johnny Byrne and Cian O'Donoghue have been the best for me. The new forwards have yet to convince.

The negatives:
- We've had problems adjusting to the style of play the manager wants us to play. We haven't had the fast forwards who have been able to get out in front of their man for the early ball in. The players that might be suited best to this style are probably playing with the Under-21s. Interesting to see if they will get a call up for the championship.
- As a team, our tackling is poor. Our tackling technique is poor and we should be using our body more to stop the runners. This has been a problem for a while and it's obviously going to take time to fix.
- We struggle to put teams away. Apart from yesterday, in all the games we've built up a lead and then switched off to allow the opposition back into it.
- Our point taking has been poor. Considering the teams in our division, we should have run up 15+ point totals in some of our games. The goals have kept us in it.
- We could be untested going into the championship. This could be a big problem as we could get to a Leinster Final just playing Division 3 and 4 teams. That wouldn't be a good preparation for playing the Dubs.
