Can't understand the big gap between the maynooth castledermot game to the athy game, might be tempted to go hawkfield before heading to cloneths

I'd say that the people working at the ground probably need a break to get feed, etc. Its a long day there from about midday until 9.00 p.m.

From the KFM Website :  The draw for the next round of the Senior and Intermediate Football Championship will take place on Sunday.

It will be held around 8.30pm,  after the Sarsfields v Carbury fixture has concluded in St Conleths Park.

Is there a chance that the 2nd round of the club championship might be played before Kildare play Offaly/Westmeath ????

Looking forward to the weekend, although it's probably as quiet as I've ever seen it.
I'd expect naas, sash, Moorefield, leixlip and jtb to all win.. the other 3 matches are hard to call.. I'd opt for larries, castledermot and athy by narrow margins, with the possibility of a draw or two in there.

Hard to see many upsets. Confey to cause an upset maybe. I think Athy will win by 4 or 5. JTB are without their county players by all acounts. JD picked up a bad injury against JTB and is struggling to make it. I'd give them a slight chance with Johnny but no chance without him.

Towers and St Kevins in the intermediate will be tight too i think.

Big win for Rathangan yesterday, their first championship win over ellistown in a long time.
Comfortable wins for Moorefield, naas and leixlip.  Jtb got out of jail.

JD put in some shift yesterday, great to see a player give everything and more for the cause, no matter how lost that cause may be.

Rathangan beat Ellistown by 11 points yesterday so you need to switch those two.

Have to say the refs in kildare are shocking I was at 3 games and they were terrible especially the ref for my own club against sarsfields it's hard enough trying to beat the co champs but with the ref against you as well it tough he caused us the game he was brutal rant over.

I spent the last 2 day's in hawkfield. and really enjoyed the matches, and hawkfield was in great order.. but terrible bad form in not having a shop or even a few bottles of water for sale, especially in the heat today.

For the losers of the winners group at least they've another bite of the cherry....
Sarsfields and Celbridge should get the better of their opponents Maynooth and Naas. The Moore's and JTB will be a good game and I'd say JTB won't be afraid of them. The potential of a Confey v Leixlip game would be interesting and I can see Confey coming out on top in both the replay and Leixlip games.

From the losers group I'd say Clane and Eadestown are staring at the relegation battle. Carbury will prob. come out the better in the local derby with Allenwood. Castledermot look the stronger but Monasterevin will put it up to them but I'd say this one will be a tough one both on the pitch and to call a winner.

Agree, definitely missed a chance to turn a few euro there. Also, €2 for a "programme" was a bit cheeky. It was basically a book of squad numbers for all the weekend's 16 games, nothing else.

Having said all that, €10 for 3 games was great value, the last two were great to watch.

Have to say, the standard of umpiring today was laughable, counted at least three wides which were given as points.

Having umpired in Hawkfield on a number of occasions I can understand how easy it is to make a wrong call. The issue is that there is little or no room between the goals and the fence between the goal to allow you to adjust your view to read some of the angles properly. Bad enough with a big ball try umpire a hurling game when the ball is travelling at 5 times the speed.

Need to install 'Hawkeye'!!! in Hawkfield.....
Got to 4 games over the weekend all good club games have to say again that the Intermediate Championship in Kildare has to be one of the toughest to win in Leinster...
For sure the bottom 6 Senior Clubs would fit in to the Intermediate and wouldn't be guaranteed anything from it
