I enjoyed this. Great scores. Great player that had it all. He could play anywhere and look at home.Look at the crowds that used to follow kildare.Was JD the best Kildare player ever?

He was certainly up there.

Had it all. Kicking points off both feet, fetching ball in midfield, turning on a six pence close to goal, leadership. I could go on.

Only blot on his copybook was that he never won a Junior B County.

Favourite moment for me was the catch against Down in the last minute. Sheer force of will making that catch will all the bigger players around. Hard to believe we were in an All-Ireland semi-final 6 years ago.

Hard to say he was Kildare's best ever player but he's definitely the best Kildare forward I have seen.
