Yes, apols KK - I wasn't aware that 2014 minors were all still underage. Dubs had Colm Basquel and Con O'Callaghan in that Leinster final and that scenario, yes you would have to make them huge favourites.

Also agree re Longford - they always produce strong underage teams and that will be a tough game. Indeed, it's exactly the sort of game Kildare teams often lose.

Yeah that's what I thought.. it seems to be the trend with Murphy.. as usual it'll be harsh on the lads who have done all the winter months when it's cut.

Was hoping to see a competitive game today in Stradbally but I believe Tipp will be missing 9 or 10 starters due to Club Under 21 championship down there today.

I'd presume so as the first round was played there against Offaly last year.

Is Jimmy Hyland back in training yet? Really hope to see him back in the kildare jersey in the not too distant future. Imagine a full forward line of Ben McCormack, Paddy Brophy and Jimmy Hyland in 2 or 3 years. Not too many full back lines around would fancy their chances against that trio! Probably the most talented corner forward I have seen playing for kildare minors in the last 20 or so years. No doubt he will come from the injury stronger than ever as Ciaran Kilkenny proved is very achieveable.

Should we expect the team to be similar to that which started against Tipperary?

Declan Campbell, Mark Dempsey, Darren Maguire, Mark Hyland, Rudhan O'Giollan, Shea Ryan, Stephen Comerford, Jamie Flynn, Daniel Courtney, Con Kavanagh, Cian Costigan, Conor Hartley, Paddy Woodgate, Eoghan Boyle, Ben McCormack.

Jack Robinson surely has to start? Also, no *official* confirmation yet but this game is in Hawkfield, yeah?

Anyone know the involvement (if any) of the following...

David Shaw, John O'Toole, Tony Archbald, Matthew Kelly, Ciaran Kelly, David Marnell.

I think a few lads listed there are sitting their Leaving Cert this year. Brian McLoughlin is another.

Expecting a tough game Wednesday - Longford always produce good underage sides. Hoping we can win U21 or minor again this year... We need to keep the pressure on til it starts to translate to senior...
