I'm looking forward to the match which I see has a 1pm throw in. I've heard a suggestion this was done to accommodate Fermanagh. That's very nice but will it effect the Kildare support? Every minor club match in the county has a 11.45am start so anyone attending a club minor match can't attend the Kildare game. Strange .

We must be the most accommodating County in the Country. We seem to bend over backwards to help others out, a bit like our teams. Too nice, nothing wrong with saying no.

I wish we would start to grow a pair and look after our on interests for once.

We seem afraid to say boo ever since the bail out.

However how do we know it was done to suit Fermanagh? It's not like they've a massive journey (certainly shorter than ours or Dublin's last week)

It was on the Kildare Twitter feed saying it was at Fermanagh's request. I'd say we couldn't say yes quick enough.

Well true but their match last weekend away to cork was also at 1pm.

If it was done to suit Kildare , would be interested to know the reason !

Jez that's not good with the minor matches on at 11.45am.
I've no doubts we're accommodating again.

So what about the game itself.
Any word on who is or isn't available?
If we get another win on the board then we are back on track. Be great to get a day in Croker in April.

I echo your sentiments 365 - Bad luck like Hawkfield!!! My last good memory of a great kildare performance in Croke Park was League final 2012 v Tyrone. Before that twas Meath in 10........ I hope the gaa issues a decree where Kildare must play all games in Portlaoise - our recent record there signals good fortune!!!

It's good P Cribbin is back. Healy also real quality, a very tricky customer - delighted he got the goal the last day.

Not expecting this to be anything other than a brutal slog. A shame McCormack's not fit but we do have the tools to open them up - even if it might take the best part of an hour.

they are an awkward team to play, they bottle up the middle and play only two up front pull and drag a lot and look for frees typical winter team kildare need to match them physically and use the width of the pitch

Yeah a high proportion of Fermanagh's scores come from frees. It's important we are disciplined because we failed to adapt to a fussy referee last Sunday and gave Derry a few handy ones. If we don't have one of those days where we concede a ridiculous number of scorable frees I think we will win this by 4 points. Having Paul Cribbin back is a boost. Agree with some of the earlier comment that bringing in Peter Kelly for him last week seemed to upset the balance of the team somewhat.

Kildare 3-6 Fermanagh 0-9 HT. Good to be winning but thirteen minutes without a score at the end of the first half must be a cause for concern. Does anybody know why Feely was substituted? Don't have access to a decent nternet connection for the radio so only keeping up on twitter.

Division Two

Kildare 6 (+27)
Galway 5 (+13)
Clare 5 (+6)
Meath 4 (+3)
Down 4 (-5)
Cork 3 (-6)
Derry 3 (-22)
Fermanagh 2 (-17)

Great day beyond us in terms of results. Not getting ahead, just stating a fact beat Down and Clare (two teams finding form to be fair, but still) and that awkward looking last-day trip to Galway is merely a warm-up for the final. Would have taken that scenario, even if there'll be twists and turns as always to come. Cork, Galway and Derry all dropping away on a day we get back on track and played some great football by sounds of it.

Great football is right TK. That's the way to brush off a tough defeat.

After going 3 points down early on, we got a real head of steam up and were 10 points up at one stage of the first half. Fermanagh came back to bring it to 6 at half time and the doubts began to creep in. Last week we went in at half-time with a 5 point lead and ended up 2 down before we recovered. Today we came out in the second half and doubled the HT lead in the first 10 minutes and pretty well controlled it from there on in. Great to see the quick thinking of the front players - 2 goals today from quick frees to add to the goal against Derry last week. Chris Healy is a real livewire. Dan Flynn had an excellent game and was unlucky not to get a second goal. His namesake Neil quietly plugged away putting away the frees and pointing from play as well. Tommy Moolick used his extra few inches for his 2 goals. Was delighted to see Fergal Conway get his point today - he does a huge amount of work and often ends up in point scoring territory which he fails to convert - but his point today sealed a great performance.

Only quibble is we conceded 14 points but in fairness Fermanagh scored a lot of those from distance - not many were easy got. O'Grady and Doyle I though were excellent and Ollie Lyons seems to instill fear in most teams we play. Around us in Derry last week, the Derry fans they were raving about him - his injection of pace is a great asset. And a mention to our goalkeeper today - he got criticised for the goal last week but again today he showed his quality with an excellent save in the first half when he pushed a certain Fermanagh goal over the bar.

In a great position now - our points difference is worth an extra point in what is a tight table. Down away in 2 weeks is more difficult than it might have been a couple of weeks ago - they seemed to have sorted themselves out but if we keep that level of performance up we have nothing to fear.

Obviously only getting to listen in, on Donnelan, he seems to make a huge amount of really good saves. Okay, goal in Derry not great but he's saved us an awful lot more than he's given up. Is that fair enough?

Definitely. In soccer parlance he's a great shot stopper. His kick-outs also have improved greatly. His only real weakness is the high ball - something that can be worked on.
