Kildare v Laois on 4th June. Happy enough with that.,

Hyland strong enough to mark big Donie? Not many alternatives I guess?

Bring it on, bunch of flat track bullies. Longford allowed themselves to be bullied at midfield today.

Some wake-up from Laois to be fair, big win, not a bad Longford side with Quinn around the middle. Game under belt always big as well. Wouldn't be taking anything for granted as this will be really hard going. That warm-weather training would want to be nice and intense.

Side note, thrilled for Carlow. Listening on KCLR made you realise summer was here. Brendan Hennessy is some man. "A date with the Dubs, Sky television, the whole shebang, where would you get it? I'm covering Carlow football matches, 22 years, doing the radio, I've never enjoyed one like this. YEEEEESSSSS. They'll enjoy this from Ballagh to Bangkok. Kevin (sideline reporter), are you going on the beer?” Great commentary. Pity wasn't on TV as for me was always going to be game of the weekend in football as was always going to be close, was always going to be huge for Carlow and was always going to be some atmosphere as that for me is the best ground in the country with any sort of a crowd.

But we live in an era where they'd rather show a top eight team flexing a muscle ever so gently in a foregone conclusion.

Can't find 2015 but we had a good time that day also.

2009 was my favourite beating.

Delighted for Carlow!
In terms of Laois they are big down the middle but might suit Moolick.
Kingston's bulk at FF is a worry so Hyland will need help if it is bombed in. But to be fair if D Flynn is inside for us he can be an eqyal handfull.
Any updates in terms of a starting XV with injuries taken into account.

O'Grady did a reasonable job on Kingston both days in 2015. Our midfield is good enough to limit the supply. Stop them scoring goals and we should be ok. Their backs are made up of the same names who have shipped big totals to Kildare in the past.

Carlow legends! I hear they will face the Dubs in Portlaoise!!! Ironic considering last year..........
As for our own clash, I'd take nothing for granted. They'll be gunning for us, but hopefully we have enough in the tank. After the non show in the league final, we are liable to do anything..... At least it will be in Tullamore, somewhere with a bit of atmosphere.

Wouldn't you think they'd give Carlow home advantage ffs.

Looks like another championship discussing that stupid black card.

Seamus last year after a 1m investment in Portlaoise, it wasn't fit to host Laois so they moved it to Nowlan Park due to crowd congestion, 600 Laois fans showed amidst a worthy boycott and you could buy endless tickets at gate. A year on and when Laois aren't at home, Portlaoise is more than worthy even though half of Carlow will turn out. BTW who are the Kildare delegates to the Leinster Council?

Could always put Kevin Feely in full back as a man marker.. am I right in saying he's played there before in the Sigurdsson? Would always prefer him in the middle myself but given how reliant Laois are on Kingston I think something drastic should be done and have my reservations about Hyland...

Podge Fogarthy played for them against Castledermott a few weeks ago so I'd say it's open to anyone who didn't play senior last year

http://www.laoistoday.ie/2017/05/22/jack-nolan-refreshing-display-much-admire/

And so it begins from Midlands Radio's resident Laois commentator/cheerleader

"The next challenge is going to be a huge one. While Laois were plummeting to Division 4 Kildare were going in the opposite direction winning promotion to the top tier. That will count for nothing however when the teams meet on Sunday week in Tullamore.

The Lilywhites will bring their usual arrogance to the game but yesterday’s victory will be a huge boost to the Laois players and they should be in fine fettle for whatever Kildare bring."

The irony of that shower calling anybody else arrogant!! Rolling Eyes

The Sigurdsson Cup gave me the best laugh of the day so far - nice one Hang Sandwich!!

Cian has never seen Feely as a defender so can't see it happening here - not as a Plan A anyway. I imagine Hylo will go on him to start but O'Grady or maybe Byrne would be alternatives as Plan B/C.

The Queens are the county that just keep giving. Instead of keeping the head down they just can't help themselves.
What will they do if the big hoof into Donie isn't working.
Sure most of them are one defeat away from a summer in the states as usual.
Keep puffing Jackie boy, keep puffing.

Not only are we arrogant but we are clearly fools for twice hiring that spoofer Micko thinking he is a great lad! I am up north so for me it's Meath that I find the worst, but Laois are actually comical at times.
The worst things is the feckers have good players and can do damage in spite of themselves. I'd agree re Feely. I'd keep big moves to a minimum and let the lads in situ start as is barring injury.
I know the league final was an awful stinker but in reality it's fair to say Galway, in terms of development, are a good bit ahead of us right now.
Won't be in the country for the next while so can't hazard a guess re starting XV...who is and isn't around apart from McCormack?

Hopefully that 4/9 Is generous.. let's not go changing things around too much to suit them.. Hope that's not too arrogant for Jack.
