Good odds on Moorefield, worth a flutter I think. Whoever wins will be serious underdogs against the big 3 already there.
For all their team spirit their indiscipline will surely cost them against better opposition.

In all fairness yesterday's sending off was wrong imo.The referee was abysmal trying to keep rathnew in the game.

I'd heard the "Give Eanna O'Connor another chance with Kildare!" arguments and I was going for Christs sake, but that was some performance yesterday. Also is it just me or is Hurley-Lynch one of the best forwards in the county?!

Have to say I don't know anything about him but he was brilliant yesterday - won plenty of possession and kicked some brilliant scores.

All I can tell you is the poise and finishing he displayed yesterday was top class and against serious opposition, not one of the turkey shoots Moorefield sometimes have in Kildare. Would remind you a bit of Ben McCormack in that he's very atypical inside forward in Kildare football.

He has a bit of a laissez faire attitude towards football but I agree, serious footballer when he's bothered. He loves a goal.

Wouldn't have much time for Moorefield or their support but I'd like to see them win a Leinster. Kildare's record in this competition is shocking.

I agree Hurley-Lynch was excellent yesterday but how on earth did Rathnew not make a change there. They left the no.2 on him for the entire game although he was getting destroyed.

Seasoned Moorefield watchers - who do you think will pick up Heslin in final? I think that duel could go a long way towards deciding it. If they have a top man marker I would give him the job with instructions to "do a Lee Keegan". Should be a right battle whoever's on him.

Heslin arguably top forward in Leinster outside Dublin?

Funny thing I was thinking of – Ronan Sweeney only Kildare footballer in history with senior provincial titles at club and county level! Also old enough to be father to Dempsey and Masterson.

I haven't seen any of Loman's this year - where does Heslin play - is he a strick full forward or does he roam around?

Moorefield haven been playing very well as defensive unit this year, especially highlighted against Celbridge. All teams they've played have had good county players in their forwards, from Sarsfields, Athy, Celbridge, Portlaoise and Rathnew.

I'd say stand out man to man defenders have been Mark Dempsey and Liam Healy and I'd imagine one of those will take Heslin depending if he stays in near the goal (then Healy) or roams (then Dempsey). Both have done great jobs this year stopping some other big names already.

Moorefield have done brilliantly to get to the final. I do have one fear. Their disciplinary record is nothing but shocking. It will eventually cause them to lose a game imo. And I don't want a big rant about these were harsh sendings off. They were sent off harsh or not. So they must play with controlled aggression in the final to do the business. If they finish with 15 I think they will win it.

Will Cian O Connor have his red turned over.Normally I would be against a player trying, just take your punishment but I feel he was harshly treated .Hopefully it goes his way

Just one thing that has struck me with commentary on Moorefield's disciplinary record. I look at their roll of honour. And I think of how they always seem to be greater than the sum of their parts. Being hard to beat, imposing themselves, being just hard - I would say that has a lot to do with it.

And I don't say that negatively. I say it, as a perusal of previous posts here and other fora will know, in admiration.

Heslin does tend to rove so maybe Dempsey might take him?

Seriously, if Dempsey did a number on Heslin you'd have to think about fast-tracking him into Kildare senior squad... would be very impressive.

Have to say it was good to see Daryl Flynn acknowledging that Moorefield's Leinster record is poor. Definitely a more honest assessment than some of their cheerleaders will admit to. Not that I'd expect any less from the lad, mind. But I'd say that frustration with their Leinster record has driven them on this year, as it should do.
