Fantastic addition. Will give us a great option at full forward or anywhere across the line up really.

Disappointed for him that he didn't make it but delighted we get to see him back in a white jersey. Great news.

What are peoples views on how soon he'll be back in panel if we were to assume he'd be appreciative to any approach?
Would hope he'd be straight in personally.

Back for championship I'd say judging by the timing. His club's statement says he wants to resume his Gaelic football career. Wonder can he be in Conleth's by Friday night!

Hardly, but it would certainly put a few hundred on the attendance if he was to get twenty minutes.

That's a massive boost as without Dan Flynn we were missing a focal point in the FF line v Galway.
It also means we can have Kelly out the field more pulling the strings while having Dan wearing 14 and roaming.
One would assume he will be rusty but you would definitely throw him in ASAP as a big corner forward.
Wouldn't say no to Eoghan Flats coming back either...that would really give us more depth.

That's a huge boost indeed, would be a fantastic addition if he were to return in time for this year's championship. From a non-selfish point of view I'm sorry that it didn't work out for him in Australia, but from a lily point of view this is great news.

Great news but surely this season too much. Remember Tadhg Kennelly's first year back and he couldn't kick the ball (granted he'd been gone longer). Also, remember how long it took the others we have on board when they came back to get up to the speed of the league, never mind straight into the championship. Again, great news but I'd e giving him time to find his feet in terms of life, then football and all that isn't quickly done. I'd be thinking big news for 2018 (hope I'm wrong).

You could well be right but given his undoubted ability I'd bring him in to panel at very least. If he's not ready this year after that well so be it

I think its worth remembering it took Cribben a good 6 months before he got himself back right once he came home. Lets give Paddy time

What brilliant news to wake up to.
I think it's more relevant to 2018, because as we've seen with others, it takes time to re-adapt, but I'd get him in straight away so he can start that process and would expect him to be a serious asset the following summer.

I think basing it on Paul and Dan isnt right as Brophy was already much more consistent before he left.
The other lads had other factors like countless niggles holding them back. Naturally its wishful thinking here but definitely get the man to Hawkfield and see how ge goes.

When is he actually back home, is he home already?

Definitely a chat needs to be had to see what hes up for.. Based on what was reported it seems he is keen to get involved straight away.

Either way, great news

A talented young manager, underage success, Division One football, and now Feely, Hurley and Brophy all back on board - in any other county you'd be looking forward to the silverware, but as we're Kildare we'll no doubt find some way to arse it up.

But hey, should be an exciting journey as always!!

I was at the celbridge v kildare junior game last night , impressive team performance by the home team . Paddy brophy played at 11 and put in a serious shift , setting up moves and scoring at will . Looks in great shape , hopefully he will be back in a kildare jersey soon
