Front page story in today's Herald: "Conor McGregor's Coach Offers To Help Connolly With Psychological Issues".

Meanwhile, Charlie Redmond and Paul Curran have started a campaign backing Jim Gavin's "siege mentality" (I'm serious), while Ciaran Kilkenny has insisted to journalists that none of this is distracting the players.

What happens on the field is a separate matter, but the Dublin football team has unquestionably become a circus.

It's too far from the game to affect the players. It will have died down by the 16th.
The only thing that has ever rattled the Dubs is the concession of goals and they can be vulnerable if they concede a few close together. We really need to go for goals ,particularly Flynn and Slattery running at them. Let Kelly an Brophy look after the points.

Kilkenny was the perfect guy for that presser. He was 30 at 18, the absolute antithesis of Connolly actually, a really good guy. He just trotted out lines to the questions - presumably well prepared. I just can't see it having any effect.

It has never taken much for there to be a circus around Dublin. Between population, being the centre of the universe with regards to media, and then the best team in the land for the last few years, it's all added up. Gavin undoubtedly fanned that flames a little bit but I just cannot see it having any negative effect on those players at this stage.

Definitely see it having a huge detrimental effect – see Frank Roche has (another) piece in the Herald arguing to that effect. May not happen in Leinster final but you could definitely see it unravelling later in the season. Gavin definitely made a colossal error with this one.

The criticism he will get if they don't retain AI will be unreal. As I said, looks like a guy under serious pressure.

I don't think you can separate all of this stuff going on in Dublin from what happens on the field of play.

It's a form of hype and Gavin has shown he's not immune to it so I can't see how the players are.

I think it's a great scenario for us, it's like we're not taking part or irrelevant.

There's only one story in town Connolly and gavins reaction.

Furthering this, Alan Brogan has an article today – yes, there's another one – where he says he just hopes Kildare can give Dublin a decent workout!

I just read on twitter that Trump has said he feels for Diarmaid. After himself Connolly is the most badly treated person ever by the press! Ever !!!

Great idea ! It could be about Anger Management!

One week could be about mindfulness, the next Pilates , the next Diarmaid goes to Lough Derg!

Unfortunately Jim can't be in it as he's taken a vow of silence!

Colm Parkinson v good on it today on GAA Hour, saying the siege mentality angle is stupid and Connolly - who was doing the right thing trying to get away at Sea Sessions up in Donegal - is probably totally mortified by the whole thing. Eamon McGee also writing today said there's probably several Dublin players really annoyed and think this whole thing is total bullshit.

Genuinely the most disastrous post-match interview I've ever seen in GAA. Seriously Connolly must be absolutely livid with Gavin. Wonder if it will lead to more unrest in the camp.

Btw - I note the most extensive tactical analysis of Kildare's approach to this game so far has been done by me. So I'd get down off the high moral ground.

If the Dublin football team has unquestionably become a circus, sign me up for Fossetts now.

Ah lighten up. Why can't we have a laugh at their expense? We mightn't get a chance after the Leinster Final.

Lets be honest they are ripe for piss taking at the moment. I mean their attitude is actually cringeworthy at this stage. Embarrassing and arrogannt at the same time. Its hilarious.

Dublin now 1/14. Kildare 9/1. 20/1 for the draw.
Kildare plus 9 at evens looks like value.

The more depth up front the better. It in turn gives the option of dropping Conway back if needs be.
Has anyone gone or what is his status in terms of fitness??

It's back up defenders we need most, still think we have very few options apart from the starting 6.
It's a complete reversal of 98 and 10 when we couldn't buy a forward apart from JD.

Hyland is brilliant. I think most of us have been astonished when we've seen him play, in that - like Ben McCormack - he is the most un-Kildare forward you'll ever see: plays with incredible style, able to beat his man, lethal finisher. Basically all the stuff Kildare forwards traditionally aren't.

For me, last year's minors as good as the 2010 side: in addition to Hyland, Shaw, O'Toole, Archbold, Masterson, Robinson and McLoughlin also have the stuff. Possibly a few others.

Speaking of which - a reminder about minors playing Dubs next Wednesday. I'm putting out a call to action for this match. We're coming home with at least one trophy on Leinster final day if I have anything to do with it!

No doubt we are short in defensive options but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be adding forwards whom management think can add something either now or in the months and years ahead. Must be performing extremely well to warrant consideration

How is Ben Mc progressing btw? In fairness that is the good thing about a small panel. It is a small group with little padding so there is an option to add lads when they are showing well or coming back from injury.
The gap in games could help lads build a lot within the confines of Hawkfield.
There are far too many positive developmemts this year...
