Did Ollie not pick him up that day?

on pitch size maybe its an optical illusion but 2m each end, even look at the locations for the 65's for hurling sure it close to half way line in newbridge? am I craxy!

Newbridge one of the smallestime pitches in Ireland. Makes a massive difference. Evens it up against better teams and makes it much harder against defensive teams. Anyone who has played there will know that. I always remember qualifier v Antrim when Bolton was literally running up and down on one sideline and Mcgrillan on the other. Couldn't find any space that evening against a team set up defensively. A week later in their big hurling pitch we ran through them all night and hammered them.

The squad as a whole seem to struggle with hamstring issues. McCormack, D.Flynn, Peter Kelly are just a few alongside Neill who have been plagued with the problem.
Looks like it's not going away anytime soon.

No. And Jimmy Hyland has torn it now on a few occasions recently.
The squad is looking bleak, and if Feely isn't available it could be an even more difficult assignment.

Confident we can win this one. I've been saying for a long time that we need to take our goal chances. There are always goal chances with Dan Flynn in the team but he needs to get his head up and pick the best option whether that involves laying it off or going low. Surely Roli can show him how seeing as he was the coolest finisher I have seen playing for Kildare. Bit like the Gooch he always went for precision rather than power.

Keep hearing this down the years. Does it really make any difference? I can't see it to be honest.

Croke Park 144m x 91m
Conleths 140m x 83m

You are talking 2m at either end and 4m at the sides. Its hardly massive enough to make a difference.

Not sure how much you've played on it Sam but back when i played it was a very tight pitch and definitely felt much smaller than other pitches around the couty like Clane or Sarsfields

I have played on it and lets just say the smaller dimensions suited me!!!
Look I have no doubt Newbridge is a smaller pitch. I just doubt it as a reason for failure.

No Feely, no party.

Full back line ripe for picking if there is not sufficient cover in place. Midfield is an unknown quantity as they have not played together. Not sure there is enough experience or physicality in there to get the ball we need.
Unless McCormack gets back to early form from last year, I can't see that forward line score enough to win.

Other than that we are good.

Division One was always going to be tough but if you add in several injuries we’re really up against it.
That’s Keith, Feely, Neil Flynn and Brophy we’re down, and Niallers doesn’t look 100 per cent either.
I know all teams get injuries but we really needed to get lucky and have a clear run if we were to win many games in this division. I think Monaghan will edge us out.

No McManus for Monaghan. Our boys are still going to have their hands full with McCarthy and McCarron. Really looking forward to this one – we're definitely going to find out what our boys are made of.
