Carlow, Laois and AN Other to reach the Super 8s, can't really ask for more than that to be fair.

Up to them now.

Disgusted with that article in the Indo. Sorry Tommy and Kildare 365, couldn't disagree with you more. Try talking to the likes of Eamon Fitz, Brendan Cummins, Lar Corbett, Liam Sheedy etc could go on for ages. They could not speak more highly of Cian. Tommy, find out what happened after Cian left Kerry, who did they replace him with, they would give anything to get him back there again... Not sure who your sources are lads but think the article was a personal attack on O'Neill and quite unfair. The only part I would agree with him on is that he has never managed anyone but himself.... He only recently developed a personality being a sports pundit and is just creating waves so as to sell newspapers... In any case, I hope that the lads read the article and go out and kick 3 colours of crap out of Carlow. This should motivate them !

I think you mis-read me. I didn’t say I knew him to be correct I just implied it would make sense if true. There are plenty of signs of a team that haven’t really bought into a manager. Clever with words at times but it’s also true that there’s a lot more to management than the skills he no doubt showed as a coach.
I have concerns based purely on what I see on the pitch and in his conservative and at times unfathomable selections. TK obviously has more access to sources on this.

Not saying I agree with them (this season will tell a lot) and not saying it's right, just saying I know in Kerry they talk a lot about him after he left. Said he was forwards' coach but they say Mickey Sheehy did all the work. Players say they didn't like so much drill work and so little football work; whole camp didn't like how much he talked to press or how he used it to sell himself, and they say it was false-advertising.

As I say not my belief, and not coming from me. Just what I've heard talking to people off record.

Given their record while he was there (All Ireland champions) vs their record now (not All Ireland champions) that analysis certainly adds up. What a load of crap, sounds like Kerry whinging and looking for excuses for not being able to beat Dubs (again).

Tommy do you ever challenge them on this nonsense or just publicly repeat everything every disgruntled squad member not getting game time tells you?

It's their opinion, they are entitled to it. As for challenging stuff, that's kind of my career. I never stop challenging stuff and gets me endless abuse. Now I'm getting attacked from other side. Can't win. As I said, just passing on people's opinions, what do you want me to say, "No, I wasn't there, you were, your opinion is not valid."

we know now what is waiting carlow , laois ,if kildare cant win these two games it would be a disaster then a free shot at the dubs , hopefully putting it up to them as well , before big chance to reach super 8 with one win to me that would be progress ,

Feely and Dan Flynn struggling with injuries during the week, both to be assessed before throw in.

FFS, if we lose Feely and Dan then this might be a bit of a scrap.

Two big losses if they are out but we should have enough either way.

Carlow will be hard to break down, will be well organised. Supporters need to stay positive right through and not get on players backs.

If we dont concede a goal we win by 7 or 8

Read Tomas’ article earlier. Don’t see what the big deal is. Not a state secret that O’Neill waffles a bit, and he says some complimentary things about him as well.

Twenty minutes in and painful listening. Hope this looks silly and knee-jerk in an hour, but in a serious game thus far.

Tactics... Get Fergal Conway to hang off Sean Murphy and bring in a dead ball specialist who can't score deadballs? Win or lose, another wasted summer.

Can Cian call a press conference at half-time? Just the five down. Can't pass, can't tackle, can't shoot. Basically relying on the fitness of a higher division to get past Carlow. Time to walk away.

Half time and the worst drivel I have been to since the last millennium, shocking, O 'Neills tenure hanging by a thread, Carlow crowd loving it

I wish they sold alcohol in the ground because I need a drink watching this. Chris Healy looks like a headless chicken out there since coming on. That penalty looks like a massive turning point.

Depending on a Cian O'Neill halftime team talk to save this match. I'm not optimistic.............

This is horrible, Carlow average and beating us all over the place. Hope they beat us, would be better than having Laois skinning us in Croke Park. Looks like they don't want to come back out for the second half...

Even if we turn this around Cian O'Neill should go.

Imagine being bullied by Carlow who hasn't kicked football in 30 years. I attended a Carlow v Kildare Junior game 6 year ago with most of these Carlow lads playing and our Junior team stuffed them.

That's what we're dealing with here

Very obvious players haven't improved skill-wise (can't tackle, shoot, or pass), they still don't know what they are at tactically (way to deal with Sean Murphy is foul, bring in free-taker in panic who hasn't been there all year), have no discipline, are lazy, and don't want to be there. Kerry folk were right all along, we are dealing with a bullshitter. Just the one year waiting for a win and now this.

But, but, but...

Ref has given us 6 minutes to get back into this, don't know where he got it from but we need it all...
