Am I right in saying that CON term is up for discussion at the end of this Championship season anyway?

It ends at the end of this season

Brendan Hackett?? Ive heard it all now. And as a side note, anyone that thinks Horan or McGuinness would come within 100 miles of Kildare is delusional

Rumours flying about the place that McGuinness is back in Donegal set-up. If that's true, on that back a big win today that makes them a far more dangerous animal.

He and Horan will probably only ever be involved in their own counties, but whenever we're looking for a new manager we have to think big. Mind you, CON might redeem himself yet. Would certainly be no one happier than me if he does.

Not sure that was the case with McGeeney. It was his first management job at any level and I don't think anyone would have seen that coming.

And I think that's the same sort of risk we should be taking the next time. Get somebody who's just finished playing and knows what they're about, and most importantly can and will change the plan when it doesn't work like McGeeney did several times.

O’Neill is gone this year. Your need defence coach most top counties have one . Kerry and Dublin have basketball coach . The towers defence leak big scores

Jack O'Connor with Thomas O'Shea as number 2 - no excuses just make it happen - County Board get the cheque book out and get a bit of pride back in the jersey and pick the players with the best attitude from our clubs and developments squads over last few years and build a team and style of play.....

The expenses for the trips up and down from Kerry or Cork for those two lads would be huge, cant see the CB even considering that. After his comments about Kildare footballers recently O'Shea would be setting himself up for an almighty fall even he failed to improve them fairly quickly.
The ideal situation would be for CON to stay on and employ the best defensive coach he can find. If we stop being so porous I believe we have enough quality players to be really competitive.

Just on costs I happened to be speaking to an official from the Wexford Co Board recently and there were queries on whether Davy was to come back this year as him and his backroom team travel expenses would be notable and they done the business case based on hype created along with the additional revenue from ticket sales for home games etc. and it was a simple yes.
Think about it if Kildare were actually competing in Div 1 this year I guarantee you would have got 1,000 people at least more on the gate for the home games...............
