Crazy I actually didn't believe this was going to happen and all that was written this morning was sensationalist, if you get a home draw surely you choose your home venue, have we sold out that bad sure this just hands the benefit to Mayo..........
Spineless, gutless etc. etc. was used to describe the players after the Carlow game no wonder if that's what the County Board guiding and supporting them act......

Hope this is true and the CB shows some balls for once like most other counties would do, if we don't we are beat before there is a ball kicked.

Let's hope they dig their heels in and it's not just a tame "oh well we tried" stunt. Refuse to play the thing period if necessary and they will have the whole countys backing and the majority of the country. There's more to the GAA than Dublin, Kerry and Mayo.

Fair play to them... Time to stand up and be counted, all of us. As much as possible we all need to convey message to Croke Park that we WON'T TOLERATE THIS BULLSHIT.

I hope that is true. And if so then fair play and about time.

We have to try everything – up to and including refusing to play.

The cheek of CP, there obviously wasn't any correspondence with the county board. They obviously thought "good little Kildare, they'll roll over and let us tickle their belly"

Just a general point – it's truly staggering how little the GAA (which always drones on hyopcritically about its community ethos) gives a toss about the association outside the elite counties.

I've been following this Kildare team for the best part of a decade, since they were minors, and then we face into a defining championship game and some DICKHEAD somewhere says, "Ah sure, the Kildare fans will be fine with it."

Like hell we will, pal. It's Newbridge or nowhere.

Just on this, if we get by Mayo wherever it is played and reach the Super 8's are they saying we will have no home game in that competition either?

This had to be confirmed by someone within out own county before the GAA would have released this surely.
No point banging on about lads up in Croke Park. Of course, it's easier for them to have double headers in Croker, but that doesn,t mean our lads should agree...

Whatever way, it has to be played in Newbridge.

Also, plenty of Mayo supporters saying we're dead right to dig in and fair play to them. You'd like to think it would be a watershed moment but the GAA at inter-county level these days is so transparently all about money that they'll back at it next chance they get.

A fair point. Also - anyone want to try and explain why Tyrone game in 2013 went ahead in Newbridge?! Complete mess all round. Well done, GAA!!

Tickets for sale (25 euro) online already for Croke Park. Hard to see it not going ahead there. I'd rather see Kildare withdraw from the competition than fulfill the fixture.

if what Tommy Callaghan has written re the county board refusing to play it in Croke Park (I have no reason to doubt him), can the county board not release some sort of statement confirming this to be true and let Croke Park respond accordingly. We need to have a definitive answer as to where the game is to be played by this evening, if Croke Park refuse to move it and we give a walkover so be it but to have it drag on for another day or two would be farcical.

Topcat I think it already is farcical!

I also think it should not be played rather than play it in Croke Park.

The game will go ahead in Corporate Park regardless of what our county board do. This decision is disgraceful and those that made it have no shame. If Mayo had a chance to nominate any ground in Ireland they would pick Croke Park over Castlebar even.

Tommy Callaghan due on KFM now any minute.

Despite my earlier post, I'm delighted to see the uproar. We should no longer allow ourselves to be fucked around.

Exactly this, redraw from the effing thing. We can give out and threaten all we want but until some county makes a stand they will just keep screwing us so-called smaller teams.

Bombard CP with emails? And perhaps all their social media?
