I was talking to my Dad tonight and he mentioned KFM had a piece on the Kildare All Ireland winning teams. It was started when someone asked what happened to Kildare great Paul Doyle.
My Dad then told me that my Grandfather always said what a fantastic footballer he was and that he was lucky enough to see him and Kildare win their All Irelands when he was a young man.
Unfortunately Doyle died young at the age of 53.

Anyway this link shows the medals that Mick Buckley (grandfather of Nuxer) won.
It also shows two pictures of Paul Doyle.

That photo of Paul Doyle JME looks very much like the one that hangs over the door of a famous pub on a corner in Newbridge, we use to laugh at it all the time as his hairstyle just kept jumping out at us, bears a striking resemblance to the hat Davy Crockett wore all the time that of a dead raccoon.

It is on the wall of the pub. Know one knows how it got from the Curragh Barracks that spot now.
